My name is Kori. I am 19 years young and I have been travelling for the past year of my life. I choose to travel because of my desire to develop a universal perspective of life. Meeting people and making friends from different cultural backgrounds does just that. Traveling is enlightening. It opens the mind and polishes the eye to see more clearly.I love being introduced to new ideas and alternative ways of doing common things.
Food and cooking is an area of particular interest for me. It is fascinating to experience the taste of a specific geographic location and compare it to that of another -- whether it be the local wine or cheese or fresh herbs, anything.
I find true happiness by playing music and collaborating with other musicians. Music can be considered a universal language and this is perhaps what I admire most about the art of music. The idea that I can have a conversation with someone by playing music with them, even if we do not speak the same language. My guitar and I have made our way across the United States, Central America, Brazil, South Africa, and now throughout Europe. We have no plans to stop anytime soon.
I feel that I am receiving a much more profound education by traveling the world than by sitting in a classroom talking about the rest of the world. I would rather explore this planet and it's people from a neutral perspective, with no prejudice nor any predetermined judgements about anywhere or anyone. I have come to the conclusion that I should travel and adventure as much as I can while I have the mental courage and the physical capabilities to do so.
I hope that I will have the pleasure to meet you on the road! Cheers
A few wise words from a clever fellow by the name of Mark Twain..
.."Nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kinds of people...Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
